Take Thirty Minutes for Yourself Enjoy the healing warmth of our Infra-red Sauna Benefits of an Infra-red Sauna
How is an Infra-red Sauna Different from a Traditional (Finnish or steam) Sauna? In essence, the Infrared Sauna and the Finnish Sauna are designed for the same purpose: to make you sweat! The biggest difference between the two is the source of heat. In a traditional sauna the heat source (which is most often electric) heats the air (which is usually 80-120C) which then heats your body, causing you to sweat. In an infrared sauna, the main source of heat is infrared radiation from infrared heaters. Infrared rays don’t heat the air, they heat human skin directly, and the temperature of the air in an infrared sauna is warm, but much lower than in a steam sauna. The infrared sauna offers the same benefits as a traditional sauna, but with lower air temperatures, and less humidity. This means that you can stay in the sauna longer, breathe more comfortably, and of course sweat more! |
